Matchweek Terms of Use
Effective date: 17 August 2026
Version: 1.0
1. Provider and acceptance
Matchweek is provided by REDSOFT SOFTWARE AND CONSULTANCY LTD, company number 13611086, whose registered office is Office 403, Screenworks, 22 Highbury Grove, London N5 2ER, United Kingdom ("Matchweek", "we", "us", or "our").
These Terms govern your use of the Matchweek service, including accounts, game features, Pulse, purchases, and your conduct. By creating an account, using Matchweek, or making a purchase, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Our Privacy Policy at https://matchweek.org/privacy explains how we process personal information.
Additional mandatory store terms may apply. Section 15 explains the separate licence terms for the iOS app.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 to use Matchweek. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian. A parent or guardian who permits use should review these Terms with the younger user.
You may use Matchweek only where doing so is lawful. You must provide accurate information when information is requested and must not create an account for a person who is not permitted to use the service.
3. The Matchweek service
Matchweek is a football prediction and league-simulation game. It provides fictional game scenarios, match simulations, season progress, and related entertainment features. It is not a gambling or betting service, does not offer cash prizes, and does not provide financial advice. Game outcomes and AI-generated scores have no bearing on real-world matches or investments.
Feature availability may depend on your device, platform, region, network connection, account state, and current app version.
4. Accounts and cloud sync
Matchweek may begin with an anonymous Firebase account. You may be able to link that account to Apple or Google sign-in. You are responsible for maintaining control of your device and linked sign-in account and for notifying [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised use.
Season progress and settings may be stored locally. Optional cloud sync may store relevant progress and account data in Firebase Firestore. Sync is intended to support continuity but is not a substitute for an independent backup, and conflicts, device loss, service faults, or deletion may affect saved progress.
Do not attempt to access another person's account. We will never ask you to send a password, Apple or Google credentials, payment details, or authentication codes by email or a website form.
5. Pulse virtual currency
Pulse is a virtual game currency used for eligible Matchweek features. Pulse has no cash value, is not money or property, cannot be exchanged for cash, and cannot be sold, transferred, or used outside Matchweek. You receive only a limited, revocable permission to use an available Pulse balance within the service.
Pulse may be obtained through eligible purchases, rewards, or promotions. The amount, availability, and permitted uses may change. RevenueCat records are used as Matchweek's source of truth for Pulse and purchase entitlements. We may correct a balance where necessary to address an error, reversal, refund, duplicate award, fraud, or abuse, subject to applicable law and mandatory consumer rights.
Unless law requires otherwise, unused Pulse does not entitle you to payment or a refund when an account ends. Nothing in this section excludes rights you have under applicable consumer law or store rules.
6. Subscriptions and purchases
Matchweek may offer subscriptions and one-time purchases through Apple App Store or Google Play. The price, billing period, included features, and any trial or promotional conditions are shown before purchase. The applicable store processes payment and provides the purchase receipt; Matchweek does not receive your full payment-card details.
A recurring subscription renews and is charged by the applicable store in accordance with the terms displayed at purchase unless you cancel it through that store before its renewal deadline. You can manage or cancel an Apple subscription through Apple's subscription controls and a Google Play subscription through Google Play's subscription controls. Removing Matchweek or deleting a Matchweek account does not cancel a store subscription.
Eligible purchases can be restored using the restore option made available in Matchweek and the same store account, subject to the store's rules. Refund requests are handled through Apple or Google where the store processed the transaction. Store policies do not exclude any refund, cancellation, or other consumer right that applicable law gives you.
7. Licence and intellectual property
Matchweek, its software, visual design, text, game systems, graphics, trade marks, and other content are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property law. These Terms do not transfer ownership to you.
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use Matchweek for lawful, non-commercial entertainment on devices you own or control. The iOS app licence is instead governed as described in Section 15. Any applicable open-source licence continues to govern the relevant component.
You must not copy, distribute, sell, sublicense, publicly exploit, modify, or create derivative works from Matchweek except where we expressly permit it or applicable law gives you a right that cannot be restricted. Nothing in these Terms limits reverse engineering, interoperability, security research, quotation, or other activity to the extent it is mandatorily permitted by law.
8. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use Matchweek unlawfully or to harm, threaten, deceive, or infringe the rights of another person;
- gain or attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, systems, data, APIs, or networks;
- interfere with service operation, bypass security or purchase controls, automate abusive requests, distribute malware, or probe the service without permission;
- manipulate purchases, rewards, Pulse, advertisements, score-generation requests, or account records;
- scrape, resell, or commercially exploit Matchweek or its data except as expressly permitted; or
- impersonate another person or misrepresent your relationship with us.
Reasonable interoperability and other activity protected by mandatory law are not prohibited.
9. AI-generated scores
Some simulations use Google Gemini through Matchweek's server-side systems to generate match scores from game parameters. AI output is probabilistic and can be inaccurate, inconsistent, or unavailable. It is game content for entertainment, not a statement about an actual club, person, match, or future result.
You remain responsible for how you use an output. We may use fallbacks, limits, Pulse charges, or safeguards around score generation. A failed or reversed request will be handled according to the behaviour shown in the app and any applicable consumer rights; we do not promise that every request will produce a particular outcome.
10. Third-party services
Matchweek relies on services supplied by third parties, including Apple, Google, Firebase, Gemini, Google Mobile Ads and UMP, RevenueCat, Brevo, and hosting providers. Their services may be governed by their own terms and privacy notices. You must comply with applicable third-party terms when using Matchweek, including app-store and network-provider rules.
Links or integrations do not mean that we control or endorse all third-party content. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for a third party's independent service, decision, or outage. This does not affect our responsibility for the parts of Matchweek that we provide or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Availability and changes
We aim to keep Matchweek available, but uninterrupted or error-free operation is not guaranteed. Maintenance, security work, provider outages, legal requirements, product changes, or events outside reasonable control may interrupt or change the service.
We may add, alter, suspend, or remove features and may update these Terms. Where a change materially affects existing rights or paid features, we will provide notice when required and respect mandatory consumer rights. The effective date and version at the top identify the published Terms. Continuing to use Matchweek after an update takes effect means the updated Terms apply to future use, but does not waive rights that require express agreement.
12. Suspension, termination, and account deletion
You may stop using Matchweek at any time. You can request account deletion at https://matchweek.org/delete-account or by emailing [email protected]. We may require account-ownership verification. Some limited records may be retained for legal, accounting, security, fraud-prevention, or dispute purposes as explained in the Privacy Policy.
We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to investigate or respond to a material breach, fraud, abuse, security risk, legal requirement, or harm to Matchweek or others. Where appropriate, we will give notice and a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue. We may terminate access for a serious or repeated breach, subject to applicable law.
Account deletion or termination does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. You must cancel it separately with the applicable store. Sections that by their nature should survive, including intellectual property, accrued payment obligations, lawful retention, liability, and disputes, continue after termination.
13. Consumer rights, warranties, and liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any warranty, remedy, refund right, or other consumer protection that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Matchweek will be provided with the care and quality required by applicable law. Any wording that describes the service as available without a guarantee applies only to the maximum extent permitted by law.
We do not exclude or limit liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or breach of mandatory statutory rights. Subject to that sentence, we are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, was caused by your breach, or relates to commercial use when Matchweek is supplied for personal entertainment.
You should take reasonable steps to protect your device and account and to reduce avoidable loss. These Terms do not require you to compensate us beyond what applicable law permits.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms and disputes concerning them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of mandatory protections under the law of your habitual residence.
Please contact [email protected] first so we can try to resolve a concern. The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, but if you are a consumer you may also bring a claim in any court available under mandatory local law. Nothing in this section restricts a right to use a regulator, alternative dispute process, or court that cannot lawfully be restricted.
15. Apple standard EULA
For the iOS app, Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement governs the licence to the installed application: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/.
These Matchweek Terms are separate service terms governing Matchweek accounts, cloud features, Pulse, purchases, conduct, and other services. If these Terms and Apple's Standard EULA address the same iOS application-licence issue inconsistently, Apple's Standard EULA controls that licence issue. Mandatory consumer rights continue to apply.
16. General terms
If a provision of these Terms is unlawful or unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum lawful extent and the remaining provisions will continue. A delay in enforcing a right does not waive it.
We may assign or transfer our rights and obligations as part of a reorganisation, financing, sale, or transfer of Matchweek, provided this does not reduce mandatory consumer rights. You may not transfer your account or rights under these Terms without our consent, except where applicable law permits.
These Terms, the Privacy Policy, the applicable purchase information, and any mandatory store terms form the agreement concerning your use of Matchweek. They do not create rights for third parties except where applicable law or an incorporated store term expressly provides otherwise.
